About the MPO

The Nashville Area MPO leads in the development of the region's long-range transportation plan and short-range transportation improvement program through a partnership among the U.S. DOT, Tennessee DOT, local elected leadership, local planning and public works directors, the business community, and citizens across the Nashville region.

• MPO Chairman Mayor Dean joined by Regional Business Leaders to Announce Public-Private Approach to Redefining how the Region Invests in TransportationImmediately following today's meeting of the Middle Tennessee Mayors Caucus, Nashville's Karl Dean and other mayors were joined by area business leaders to announce a new partnership aimed at promoting an increased emphasis on mass transit and walkable communities as part of a new multi-billion dollar transportation plan that will be unveiled in late May.
